How to Install Aluminum Threshold Profiles Without Tack Holes?
Some families use wood floor for bathroom and ceramic tiles for living room in home decoration. To make the seams look nicer, they require aluminum threshold profiles, also called tile trims. But if these aluminum threshold profiles do not have tack holes, how to install? There are two ways as follows:
The first way is to use glass cement. Clean the place of installation as well as the aluminum threshold profiles with dry cloth. And then wipe the glass cement on the back of aluminum threshold profiles, especially two sides of the convex groove, and also you can wipe some glass cement on the floor. Put the aluminum threshold profiles on the place of installation leveling. So it does not matter whether the aluminum threshold profiles have tack holes or not. After making the aluminum threshold profiles stick to the floor, press the aluminum threshold profiles with weight until the glass cement becomes hardened. That is done. The benefit of this way is that you don’t need to consider if the location is the place of water pipe or electric wire.
The second way is to find suitable screws and plug insert to the groove under the aluminum threshold profiles. Adjust the position of screws and make the length of screws suitable for the depth of the flooring gap, then put a wooden plate of soft thing on aluminum threshold profiles for protection. Use the rubber hammer to knock it down, so as to make the aluminum threshold profiles level to the floor. Usually such aluminum threshold profiles are matched with threshold base for use.
As the wood floor is easy to expand and rise up, it will be better to install with aluminum threshold profiles. Aluminum threshold profiles are not only good looking but also practical. They extend the service life time effectively. If you intend to install by yourself, and you have no idea of the position of electric wire or water pipe in around, it is better to choose to install with glass cement that is easier to install. If installed by worker, we suggest that you choose the second way which makes aluminum threshold profiles to be installed on the floor more firmly.
